Paradex has just been through the cycle every points program promises and few complete: two XP seasons, a token launch, and an airdrop that paid out to the people who earned XP. Season 3 started on February 1, 2026, and the headline number in the docs is simple: 4,000,000 XP per week. What that number means for an individual trader is less obvious, because XP is a share of a fixed pool, not a fixed rate per dollar traded.
This guide explains how the weekly pool works, what earns XP in Season 3, how referrals and social linking fit in, and where DIME, the token XP holders received in March, now sits in the picture.
Paradex in brief
Paradex is a perpetual futures exchange that runs on its own appchain, Paradex Chain, built on Starknet technology and settling to Ethereum. It started as an offshoot of Paradigm, the institutional derivatives liquidity network, which explains its focus on order-book depth and professional market makers. The product you interact with is a central limit order book at paradex.trade, with full mechanics in the Paradex documentation.
Its signature feature is zero-fee trading for retail. Paradex does this by classifying each order rather than each account. Orders placed through the web app, or through an “interactive” API session, are Retail Orders: they pass through a 300 millisecond speed bump on submission and cancellation and have tight rate limits, but in return they get Retail fees, queue priority at each price level, and access to Retail Price Improvement liquidity. Everything else is a Pro Order, with no speed bump, much higher rate limits and the Pro fee schedule. An account that exceeds the Retail rate limits is treated as Pro automatically.
Where XP came from: the first two seasons
XP is Paradex’s single reward currency. The docs describe it as covering every kind of contribution, from trading to providing liquidity to community engagement. Its history so far:
- Pre-Season (beta) and Season 1: February 1, 2024 to January 2, 2025, roughly 100 million XP distributed.
- Season 2: January 3, 2025 to January 29, 2026, roughly 236 million XP distributed.
- Season 3: started February 1, 2026, end date not yet set.
Season 2 coincided with explosive growth. In its season-end announcement Paradex reported average daily volume rising from about $68 million to $2.1 billion and active users climbing from roughly 4,100 to more than 70,000. That growth is why Paradex raised the Season 2 share of the airdrop before launch.

From XP to DIME: what the airdrop paid
When Season 2 closed on January 30, 2026, Paradex confirmed that 25% of DIME’s fully diluted supply would go to XP holders, fully unlocked at launch. The split was 20% for Season 2 participants, up from a previously planned 15%, and 5% for Pre-Season and Season 1 holders. The Paradex Foundation then set the genesis airdrop for March 5, 2026, with claims opened inside the Paradex app for a two-week window and initial trading launched on Paradex itself.
DIME has concrete uses on the exchange, which matters for how Season 3 participants should think about it:
- Staking for fee discounts. Staking DIME reduces spot and perps taker fees in tiers, from 5% at 10,000 DIME (Wood) up to 30% at 2 million DIME (Diamond). Unstaking has a 24-hour cooldown.
- Paying fees in DIME. Fees paid in DIME get a flat 40% discount, which stacks with the staking discount.
- Buybacks. Net protocol fee revenue funds DIME buybacks and ecosystem growth, run periodically such as through a daily TWAP.
- Gas. DIME is intended to be the gas token of Paradex Chain’s general-purpose smart contract layer.
These discounts mostly matter to Pro traders and spot users, since retail perps orders are already fee-free.
How the 4,000,000 XP weekly pool works
Season 3 replaces open-ended accrual with a fixed weekly budget. Each week, 4,000,000 XP is split among eligible participants and distributed every Wednesday. The docs note that weekly distributions begin after the token launch, which has now happened.
The key consequence of a fixed pool is that your XP depends on everyone else. If total activity on Paradex doubles in a given week and yours stays flat, your share of those 4 million XP roughly halves. It also means XP per dollar traded is not a constant you can calculate in advance, so be skeptical of calculators that promise one.
Season 3 also widens what counts. Alongside perpetuals, Paradex said the season would cover spot trading, perpetuals on real-world assets and options, and the docs say a new XP mechanic will be introduced with updated documentation. Liquidity provision, including through Paradex vaults, remains part of the contribution picture. Read the XP page again when that update lands, because the weighting between products may change.
Referrals, affiliates and social linking
Referral XP is added on top of the weekly pool rather than taken out of your own share. Under the standard program:
- A referrer earns 10% of the XP their referees generate.
- A referee gets a 5% XP bonus on their own trading activity.
- To qualify for the commission, a referrer must bring in at least $10,000 of volume, and self-referrals are excluded.
Larger communities could apply to the Token-Aligned Affiliate Program, which ran from October 8, 2025 to April 21, 2026. Affiliates earned the standard 10% plus TAP Points, with 1 million TAP Points distributed every two weeks against a pool of 1% of DIME supply, and a three-month lockup after the program ends. Applicants needed at least 5,000 followers and a trading community to bring.
The docs also encourage linking an X and Discord account. Paradex says this helps it tell real users from Sybil wallets. Linking is optional, but if you plan to participate seriously, it is one of the few concrete signals you can give that you are one person with one account.
How to take part in Season 3 step by step
- Open the real app. Go to paradex.trade and launch the app from there. You can connect an Ethereum or Starknet wallet, or sign in with an email or social wallet.
- Deposit USDC. Use the deposit flow in the app, which supports direct deposits and cross-chain bridging from the networks it lists. Start with an amount you could lose without changing your plans.
- Link X and Discord. Do this from your account settings in the app, not from a link someone sends you.
- Enter a referral code only if you want one. The 5% bonus is useful, but take the code from someone you know rather than from a random reply.
- Trade the way you normally would. Retail Orders through the web app keep you on zero-fee pricing. If you start using the API heavily, remember that exceeding the Retail limits moves you to Pro fees.
- Try the new products deliberately. Spot, RWA perps and options each carry their own risks. Learn them with small sizes rather than adding them just because they may count toward XP.
- Check XP on Wednesdays. Your weekly allocation shows in the app after each distribution. Compare it with your activity over time instead of reacting to a single week.
Risks that apply to Paradex specifically
- Leverage. Zero fees reduce trading costs but not liquidation risk. A single bad position can cost more than a season’s worth of XP is likely to be worth.
- A shrinking slice. Because the pool is fixed, growing participation dilutes everyone. Spending money on volume to chase XP can turn negative quickly.
- Appchain and bridge risk. Funds sit on Paradex Chain and move through bridges to get there. Smart-contract bugs, bridge incidents or sequencer downtime are real possibilities on any appchain.
- New product risk. Options and RWA perps are newer markets with thinner liquidity and pricing models that may behave differently in volatile conditions.
- DIME price exposure. Staking DIME for discounts or holding it for future benefits adds token price risk to your trading risk.
- Undisclosed future rules. Paradex has not said what Season 3 XP will be used for. A second airdrop is not promised.

Avoiding fake DIME and XP pages
The genesis claim window has closed, and that makes “late claim” pages one of the most common scams around Paradex right now. Keep these points in mind:
- The official web domain is paradex.trade, with the app and docs on its subdomains. The official X account is @tradeparadex.
- The DIME airdrop was claimed inside the Paradex app. Any separate site offering “missed DIME”, a “Season 3 early claim” or an “XP to DIME converter” is not official.
- Replies under Paradex posts offering support, allocation checks or higher referral rates are a common phishing route.
- Paradex will not ask for a seed phrase or a Starknet private key. Treat any request for either as an attempted theft.
Our GRVT post-TGE guide covers how another perps exchange handled the same transition from points to token.
FAQ
How much XP will I get per dollar of volume?
There is no fixed rate. Every week 4,000,000 XP is divided among all participants based on their contribution, so your share depends on total activity as well as your own.
Does Season 3 XP lead to another DIME airdrop?
Paradex has not said. Season 3 has no announced end date and no announced conversion. Treat XP as a measure of your participation, not as a promised allocation.
When is XP distributed?
Every Wednesday, according to the XP documentation.
Can I refer my own second account?
No. Self-referrals are excluded from XP commissions, and running multiple accounts to farm referrals is exactly what social linking and Sybil checks are meant to catch.
Do I need DIME to earn XP?
No. Staking DIME reduces fees for trading that is not already fee-free, but XP is earned through contribution such as trading and liquidity, not through holding DIME.
Verdict
Paradex is one of the few points programs that has already delivered a token, and Season 3’s fixed weekly pool makes the economics more transparent than open-ended accrual. The flip side is that a fixed pool rewards real, durable activity and punishes paid-for volume. Trade there if zero-fee perps and the new spot, RWA and options markets fit your strategy, link your socials, and let XP be a side effect rather than the goal.
Derivatives trading can lose more than you expect, and token rewards are never guaranteed. This guide is information, not a recommendation to trade or to buy DIME.
