Biconomy Rewards 2026: How to Track Smart Account and Paymaster Activity Safely

Biconomy Rewards 2026: How to Track Smart Account and Paymaster Activity Safely

Biconomy is one of those projects millions of people have used without knowing it. When a dApp lets you swap without holding gas, or bundles approve-and-deposit into one click, there is a fair chance Biconomy’s smart accounts or paymaster sit underneath. That invisibility creates a specific problem for reward hunters: there is no Biconomy points dashboard for ordinary users, yet “Biconomy airdrop” pages keep appearing. Here is what Biconomy actually rewards, who earns it, and how to keep track of your own smart-account activity without falling for fake claims.

What Biconomy is today

Biconomy started in 2019 as a gasless-transaction relayer and became one of the main providers of ERC-4337 account abstraction: smart accounts, bundlers and paymasters that let apps sponsor gas or accept fees in tokens other than ETH. Its current stack, described in the Biconomy documentation, has three main parts:

  • Nexus Smart Account. A modular smart wallet built on the ERC-7579 standard. Apps can add modules for session keys, social recovery and batching. Biconomy claims it is about 25% cheaper to run than alternatives.
  • Modular Execution Environment (MEE). Biconomy’s step beyond ERC-4337. It lets one user signature trigger a sequence of actions across several chains, with gas paid from any chain in any supported token. Biconomy calls these bundles Supertransactions.
  • Developer access. The Supertransaction API (REST endpoints) and the AbstractJS TypeScript SDK. Smart Sessions add scoped, time-limited permissions for bots and AI agents.

A “Fusion” mode lets ordinary EOA wallets such as MetaMask use Supertransactions without migrating to a smart account. In 2025 MEE was deployed on Unichain, and Biconomy has worked on a smart-batching standard for agent transactions with the Ethereum Foundation.

Where BICO fits

BICO is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum with a maximum supply of 1 billion. It launched in late 2021, and its role has shifted over time. Today Biconomy describes its network as a proof-of-stake orchestration layer: node operators run the infrastructure that executes Supertransactions, and BICO holders delegate stake to those operators. Delegation affects how much work a node can take on and shares network rewards with delegators.

In other words, the “rewards” in Biconomy’s world are staking rewards for BICO holders and operators. They are not points for using a smart account.

How BICO staking works

Staking happens on the official staking site at token.biconomy.io. The flow is short:

  1. Connect the wallet that holds your BICO on Ethereum.
  2. Stake BICO into the pool.
  3. Choose a node operator to delegate to on the Delegation tab.
  4. Rewards accrue to your position and can be claimed from the same interface.

The page showed a pool APY of 4.50% when we checked. That figure can change. The site also has an “Unstake BBPT” option for an older pool-token staking position, so long-time holders who staked in earlier programs should check for leftover balances there.

Past staking has occasionally come with extras. In 2023, for example, Biconomy distributed ARB to BICO stakers who held at least 1,000 staked BICO, through a checker announced on its official channels. That was a one-off; no similar distribution is announced at the time of writing.

Is there a points program or airdrop for users?

No. Biconomy has not run a points, XP or season program for end users of smart accounts or paymasters, and there is no announced airdrop at the time of writing. BICO’s original tokenomics set aside 2% of supply for airdrops, with 0.5% to early adopters, and those distributions date back to the 2021 launch.

Using a dApp built on Biconomy does not, by itself, put you on any reward list. If you see a “Biconomy smart account rewards” checker, the burden of proof is on that page, and so far no such program exists.

One extra source of confusion: Biconomy.com is a separate centralized exchange with its own quests and promotions. It is not the BICO infrastructure project at biconomy.io. Many search results mix the two.

How to track your own smart-account and paymaster activity

Even without points, it is worth knowing what your smart account is doing, especially if you use apps that sponsor gas or run automated sessions.

  1. Find your smart-account address. A Nexus account has its own address, different from the EOA that signs for it. Most apps show it in settings. Your funds sit at that address.
  2. Look up UserOperations, not just transactions. ERC-4337 activity appears as UserOperations bundled into regular transactions. Use an explorer that shows them, such as JiffyScan or the UserOps view on Etherscan-family explorers, and search by your smart-account address.
  3. Check who paid the gas. Each UserOperation lists the paymaster. Sponsored actions show the app’s paymaster; token-paid actions show a fee taken from your balance.
  4. Review installed modules and sessions. If you granted a Smart Session to a bot or agent, it holds a scoped permission to act for you. Know its limits and expiry, and revoke sessions you no longer use through the app that created them.
  5. For developers: sponsorship spending, gas tank balances and API keys are managed in the Biconomy dashboard. Keep API keys server-side and set spending limits so one abused endpoint cannot drain your gas budget.

Risks specific to Biconomy users and stakers

  • Smart-account permissions. Modules and sessions are powerful. A malicious module, or a session with broad scope, can move funds without a fresh signature from you. Grant sessions only to apps you trust and with tight limits.
  • Cross-chain execution. Supertransactions span several chains. If one step fails midway, funds can end up on an intermediate chain. Biconomy designs for this, but users should check where assets landed after a complex action.
  • Signature phishing. Because one signature can authorize a whole multichain bundle, signing an unknown Supertransaction payload is riskier than signing a single transfer. Read what the wallet shows before approving.
  • Staking concentration. Delegated proof-of-stake rewards depend on the operator you pick and on network usage. On-chain watchers reported in May 2026 that team-linked wallets unstaked about 90 million BICO and moved it to an exchange. Large holder moves can hit price regardless of staking yield.
  • Token price risk. A 4.5% staking yield is small next to BICO’s typical price swings.

Spotting fake Biconomy claim pages

  • Domain check. The official properties are biconomy.io, docs.biconomy.io, token.biconomy.io and blog.biconomy.io. Biconomy.com is a different company. Hyphenated or alternate-TLD versions are not Biconomy.
  • Official X account. Announcements come from @biconomy. Check the handle letter by letter; impersonators often reply under its posts.
  • “Smart account rewards” or “paymaster refund” checkers. No such program exists. These pages usually ask you to sign a permit or Supertransaction that grants token spending.
  • Requests to “activate” or “upgrade” your smart account on an unknown site. Module installs and account upgrades should happen in the app you already use or in documented Biconomy flows, never on a page you reached through a DM.
  • Fake staking front-ends. Stake only at token.biconomy.io. Lookalike staking sites take deposits and never return them.

FAQ

Will using a Biconomy-powered dApp make me eligible for an airdrop?

Nothing official says so. Biconomy has not announced any user points or airdrop tied to smart-account or paymaster usage.

How do I earn rewards from Biconomy?

By staking BICO at token.biconomy.io and delegating to a node operator. The page showed a 4.50% pool APY when we checked.

Is Biconomy.com the same as Biconomy?

No. Biconomy.com is a separate exchange. The BICO infrastructure project is at biconomy.io.

Where can I see my gasless transactions?

Search your smart-account address on an explorer that displays ERC-4337 UserOperations. Each one shows the paymaster that covered gas.

Verdict

Biconomy is infrastructure, and its reward model reflects that: BICO holders stake and delegate to node operators, while end users get cheaper, simpler transactions rather than points. Tracking your activity is still useful for security, especially if you use sessions or cross-chain bundles. For anything reward-related, start at the Biconomy website or the staking site, and treat every unsolicited “Biconomy airdrop” as a phishing attempt until proven otherwise.

Staking yields and token prices change, and nothing here is investment advice.
